Behemoth | Scott Westerfeld

Picking up where Leviathan left off, Behemoth continues the tale of everyone's favorite midshipman and heir on the run in a steampunk alterna-WWI.

It's hard to say much more without giving away the plot of either title, so just take my word for it. This book is barking AWESOME. The story was a little too Clanker heavy for my taste, as I'm a devoted Darwinist, but I did love how much of it occurred in Istanbul. There was a part towards the end that dragged on a little for me, but I may have just been annoyed at how much stirring my tomato bacon risotto required during a pivotal action scene.

I'm going to break your heart and tell you that the series isn't concluded. I'm just being cruel to be kind. There is one secret that the reader is aware of but a major character is not that I simply cannot wait to know how it's revealed. Let's just say, it didn't happen here.
